     The Village of Seneca Falls Fire Department is a Municipal fire department made up of up to 30 paid -on-call firefighters. We provide Fire Protection and first response BLS Emergency Medical service to the village of Seneca Falls as well as part of the Town Seneca Falls. Our district is a combination of residential, commercial, and industrial occupancies. We also have an active Fire Prevention program featuring "Pluggie" the talking fire hydrant and our Fire Safety Trailer where children are taught how to escape from a fire.

"Jaws" (Hurst Tool) used in Head-On Crash
November 30, 2008 - 1458hrs.
     Seneca Falls Fire Department responded to the area of 2956 NYS Rte. 414 for the report of a 2 vehicle head on traffic crash. SFFD Provides Mutual Aid to Fayette
October 21, 2008 - 0245hrs.
     On October 21, 2008 at 2:45 AM the Fayette Fire Department requested mutual aid from the Seneca Falls Fire Department to a grain dryer fire on McGrane Road.  Fayette command requested that Seneca Falls send Quint 1 to be used as an elevated master stream. Quint 1 responded with a full crew along with  Deputy Chief Rhinehart. Quint 1 operated at the scene for 2 1/2 hrs, pumping approximately 13,000 gallons of water onto the fire.

Chicken B-B-Q for Fire Prevention

     There will be a Chicken B-B-Q held on Saturday May 24th, 2008 to support the Seneca Falls Fire Department Fire Prevention Committee. The B-B-Q will be held at Fucillo Ford on 5&20 Seneca Falls from 11am unitl 2pm. Tickets are $8.00 and presale dinners will be guaranteed until 12:30pm.

Controlled Burn / Training with Red Jacket FD

     On April 27, 2008 Seneca Falls Quint 1 and Engine 1 along with manpower assisted Red Jacket Fire with a Live Fire Training / Burn Down Drill on Lower Lake Rd.

Chlorine Leak
April 4, 2008 12:26hrs.
      Fire Department was called to the Village Wastewater Treatment Plant off Seneca St. for a leaking 150# Chlorine Cylinder. The treatment plant was evacuated as well as NYS Canal Corp. workers who were working on the adjacent Seneca / Cayuga Canal locks.

     The Seneca County Haz-Mat Team responded and with assistance from the Ontario County Haz-Mat Team entered the building where the cylinder was located. The Cylinder was shut off, air quality readings were obtained, and the building was ventilated.

     All units cleared at 1622 hrs.

Engine #1 Has Arrived!

     With the "Jaws of Life" and other last minute equipment installations being made at Churchville Fire Equipment over the past two weeks, the latest addition to our fleet was ready to come home! Engine #1 arrived in Seneca Falls on Friday, March 7th 2008.

New Web Site Launched
February 24, 2008
     The Seneca Falls Fire Department announced the official launch of their new web site. Introduced as a portal for information about department issues and events, the site will also provide fire prevention and safety information for the public and its community.
